About
It wouldn’t be a Salt Spring Folk Club season without a Gumboot Gala!
The gala is traditionally the last concert of the Folk Club season, featuring two of the club’s founders and legends of Canadian music — Bill Henderson and Valdy — plus special guests joining them each time, often including Salt Spring’s electrifying gumboot dancers — the Wrangellian Gumboot Ensemble.
Gala-goers are invited to dress up in their fanciest duds and/or gumboot-based attire, with prizes awarded for best costumes.
The Gumboot Gala celebrates the best of Salt Spring Island culture, community and music. Don’t miss it!
Showtime is 2 p.m., with doors opening at 1 p.m. Lunch and desserts from chef Brody Paine’s Salt Spring Catering and mocktails from Moonshine Mama's will be available for purchase.
Note: The Gumboot Gala may end up being an evening concert instead of an afternoon concert. This will be confirmed closer to the date — stay tuned!
